Long standing glitch. Scenario: consolidating the content of a folder. Moving folders into a newly created folder or already existing folders within one pane (not pane to pane). After selecting several folders, and then right clicking on the destination to bring up the menu, and then selecting move, TC gets confused and tries to move the selected folders into the first folder that was selected and is still highlighted. This brings up an error about trying to move a folder into itself. I realize this would not happen if moving folders from one pane to the other. But sometimes the operation(s) in progress has/have one pane doing or being somewhere else that has nothing to do with the move operation. If several folders are selected and marked, they should become automatically unmarked after the destination is right-clicked and "move" selected. TC is grouping the selected folders and the destination folder into a single list, rather than keeping the sources in a list separate from the destination, and that generates the error. Sometimes it is necessary to move folders into another folder in a single pane, and TC should be able to figure this out, not get confused by grouping everything together into one list instead of source list and destination. If it's impossible then just say so but don't leave it up to a file system error to announce that it can't be done. And sometimes the move succeeds but the sources have been moved into the wrong directory as destination. That's a mistake that shouldn't happen under any circumstance. And, yes, new folder tab can alleviate this but that is an extra step that doesn't seem like it should be necessary if the move operation was properly functional. Simply, "don't do that because it glitches out" seems to be inadequate.
